Context: This article describes common errors and solutions regarding opening a Revit model or placing components.
Scenario A: General error or the command freezes Solution: Try to see if the standard Revit 'Audit' function can solve the problem when opening the model.
Scenario B: Message "Stabicad cannot be started because one of the components contains errors" Cause: The configuration file StabiCADTabs.xml is missing from the Revit family folder: ...\Trimble\Stabicad NL\Families. Solution: Reinstalling the Stabicad software is not necessary. You can resolve this by downloading the Revit families separately (which include this xml file) and placing them manually in this folder.
Scenario C: Message "Family 'xxxxx.rfa' not found in .../Families//..." Cause: The required Stabicad for Revit families (.rfa files) are missing on your computer or server. Solution: Revit families are not part of the standard Stabicad installation. They must be downloaded separately from the portal after installation and placed in the correct folder structure.
Scenario D: Message "Can’t make type" or "Can’t create family" Cause: The element does not appear in the model after drawing. Solution: This indicates an error in the family creation or placement. Check if the newly placed Stabicad families are properly loaded into your project and try to draw the element again.
