Troubleshooting: Login and database errors due to incorrect system time ("Invalid Null Value")
Not version-specific
Stabicad
Issue When starting the software, you experience strange behavior during the login process, or you encounter errors regarding the database traffic between your local PC and the server. A common error message associated with this issue is:
"Invalid Null Value" (or "Ongeldige Null Waarde").
Cause This problem occurs when the system time (the clock) on the local machine does not match the actual current time or the server's time. Even a small time discrepancy can invalidate secure login tokens and disrupt the communication with the SQL database.
Solution To resolve this issue, you need to force Windows to synchronize the system time with the online time server.
- Right-click on the clock in the bottom right corner of your Windows taskbar.
- Select Adjust date/time from the context menu.
- Ensure the toggle for Set time automatically is turned On.
- Scroll down to the Synchronize your clock section and click the Sync now button.
- Wait for the checkmark to appear, confirming the time has been successfully synchronized.
- Restart Stabicad and attempt to log in again. The database traffic should now function normally.
