Not version-specific
Stabicad
Issue & Cause Opening the 'Manage Links' dialog in Revit 2025.4 causes the application to crash or freeze. This is triggered by the newly introduced dialog interface.
Solution You can bypass this crash by forcing Revit to use the classic 'Manage Links' dialog via a modification in the local
Revit.ini file.Steps:
- Close Revit.
- Open Windows File Explorer and navigate to:
%appdata%\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit 2025 - Open
Revit.iniusing Notepad. - Locate the
[Misc]section. - Add or modify the following parameter:
EnableOldManageLinksDialog=1 - Save the file and restart Revit.

Addendum: If the Home button is also affected and needs to be set to 'classic', one can alter or add this attribute under the [UserInterface] section of the revit.ini:
UseUDAHomeAsDefault=0
