E-Notary FAQ
Answers to common questions about unconditional waivers and notary settings.
After my unconditional waivers are unlocked, they're released with watermarks. What is causing this behavior?
For vaulted documents requiring a wet signature, the document requirement must not be set to both Electronic signature and Requires notarization. If you attempt to perform a physical signature with these settings, the downloaded document will have physical watermarks.
If your subcontractor intends to physically notarize, please select Physical signature required in the Signature requirements dropdown.
I have some subcontractors who have in-house notaries and others who do not. How should I navigate E-Notary settings?
First, set your global default based on how subcontractors usually sign. For example, if most print their documents, switch the template from Electronic signature to Physical signature required.
Next, manage exceptions to your global defaults. To update settings for individual contracts:
- On the contract Requirement tab, select the Eye icon.
- Select the toggle to move the requirement from Active to Inactive status.
- Once the item is Inactive, select the Add another requirement button to add the contract back with alternate settings.
