Create a Unique Short Code for Your Vista Web Portal

When first setting up Vista Web for managed Trimble ID users, a System Admin must create a unique short code for the portal. This code will become the prefix for your managed users' usernames.

You must be a System Admin to complete these steps.
Important: Admins create the short code only once during initial setup. This code is used for your entire portal, so you should enter one that makes sense across all of your companies. Once created, the short code cannot be changed or removed.
  1. In Vista Web, go to Admin > User Access.
  2. Select the More options icon and choose Set up Managed Users Short Code.
Note: If your short code is already set up, you will not see this option.
  3. In the Managed Users Short Code Setup window, enter your short code.

The short code must be 4 to 9 characters long. It can include letters, numbers, dashes, and underscores.

Important: This code is used for your entire portal, so you should enter one that makes sense across all of your active companies. Once created, the short code cannot be changed or removed.
  4. To save your code, select Submit.
This code is the prefix for all of your managed users' usernames. You can view the short code from the User Access page and the Portal Settings Portal Info page.
