Export layers to a machine control AutoCAD file

  1. Open the job from which you want to export the information, if it is not already open.
  2. Select the Takeoff tab, if it is not already active.
  3. Select Estimating > Earthwork > Export > Machine Control.
  4. On the Machine Control Export window, select Browse.
  5. On the Save As window, browse to the folder where you want to save the machine control file.
  6. In the File name field, enter a descriptive name for the machine control file.
  7. Select Save. The file name you entered is displayed in the Save File As field.
  8. In the Area field on the Machine Control Export window, select the area you want to export.
  9. In Export Layers, select the layer you want to export.
  10. Select the Export Triangulation checkbox to export the triangulation for the selected layer.
  11. Select the Export Areas checkbox to export the areas in the selected layer.
  12. Select the Export Contours checkbox to export the contour information for the selected layer. If you select this checkbox, you can specify the increment in feet or meters to use when creating the contours.
  13. Select OK.
  14. Select OK on the export confirmation message.
