Mobile Device Management (MDM) is a third-party software that acts as a universal remote control for a group of company devices.

It allows business owners or IT managers to set up, secure, and update smartphones and tablets simultaneously from a central dashboard. By using MDM, organizations can eliminate the manual configuration of individual devices.

MDM is useful for large companies to configure, update, and secure thousands of devices from the central dashboard.

Small companies may not need MDM if they have a small team using just a few devices. Their users will still be able to initialize the app in a browser and log in as normal.

If your organization decides to use MDM, you will need an active MDM solution properly integrated with your corporate app distribution channels. Solutions could include ManageEngine Endpoint Central, Microsoft Intune, or VMware Workspace ONE.
