If cost centers are being used in the current company, the starting screen includes a selection for a cost group. When a cost group or cost center is specified, then the report shows only transactions assigned to that cost group/cost center. An option is also provided to sort primarily by cost center.

When you specify a cost center on the starting screen, Spectrum verifies that you have permission to access that cost center before proceeding. The E/C G/L Distribution Report also shows the cost center associated with each transaction line on the report.

Spectrum includes equipment transactions only if you have permission to access the piece of equipment. Spectrum compares the cost center assigned to the equipment with cost centers in your operator's assigned cost center scheme, and if the cost center is not included, then that equipment is not shown on the report.

Spectrum includes G/L transaction activity on the report only if you have permission to access the cost center assigned to the G/L transaction. Spectrum compares the cost center assigned to the G/L entry with centers in your operator's assigned cost center scheme, and if the cost center is not included, then that G/L transaction entry is not shown on the report. When a single cost group or cost center is specified on the starting screen, Spectrum only includes lines with activity for the selected cost center(s).
