Configure Spectrum Web Services

Follow these steps to enable a Spectrum connection to add or update records in App Xchange.

You must be a Spectrum administrator to complete these steps. The Data Exchange module must be active in your Spectrum instance. To verify your Data Exchange module is active, in Spectrum, navigate to System Administration > Installation > Company and verify that the Data Exchange checkbox is checked.

  1. Create a new Spectrum operator.
    1. In Spectrum, navigate to System Administration > Security > Operator Maintenance and select New.
      The New Operator window opens.
    2. Enter the following information in these fields.
      • Operator: APX

      • Logon ID: Enter a username to match the Info-Link username you previously created.

      • Name: Enter a name to match the Info-Link username you previously created.

      • Email: xchange@trimble.com

    3. Select OK.
      The Edit Operator window opens.
    4. Select the Companies tab.
    5. Select New and add the companies you want the integration to sync to the operator profile.
    6. Select OK.
      Your Spectrum operator is created.
  2. Configure the Spectrum operator's Web Services.
    1. Navigate to System Administration > Installation > Data Exchange and select New.
      The New Authorization ID window opens.
    2. Enter the following information in the appropriate fields:
      • Authorization ID: apx(+any 8 additional characters)

      • Company: Select all of the required companies.

      • Status: Active

      • Spectrum Operator Code: Select the operator you created above by searching for it or selecting it from the list.

    3. Consult with your integration owner about which Spectrum Web Services are required for your integration and authorize the appropriate modules for your integration.
      For more information about which Web Services map to which module, see Spectrum Data Exchange Web Services.
    4. Select Build.
      The Build Web Services for the Authorization ID opens.
    5. Select a module for your integration from the dropdown and select Go.
    6. One at a time, highlight the appropriate web services in the Web Service Library table and select Select.
      The services move to the Authorized Web Services table.
    7. Select OK. If you need to add Web Services from another module, return to step d. If finished, select OK to save all changes.
  3. Navigate to System Administration > Utilities > Data Exchange Download and record the URL and Port Number for later.
Your Info-Link user's Web Services are configured.
