Manage Entitlements

You can use this menu to setup employee leave accrual codes and rates which can be linked to employees allowing it to automatically accrue leave values.

To access the Payroll Entitlement Parameters screen:
  1. Expand the Payroll menu in the left pane of the Jobpac Connect home screen.
  2. Expand the Company Information sub-menu.
  3. Select Entitlement Maintenance to display the Payroll Entitlement Parameters screen.
  4. Enter the entitlement type in the field below the Ent Type column.
  5. Enter the entitlement code in the field below the Ent Code column.
  6. Enter the required value in the field below the Year column.
  7. Enter the required value in the field below the Entitlement column.
  8. Enter the accrual type in the field below the Accrual Type column.
  9. Enter the accrual period in the field below the Accrual Period column.
  10. Enter either "Y" or "N" in the field below the Accrual Only column.
  11. Enter the required period in the field below the Maximum Period column.
  12. Enter the required period in the field below the Minimum Period column.
  13. Select OK at the top of the Payroll Entitlement Parameters screen.

Fields in the Payroll Entitlement Parameters Screen

This table provides information about the fields in the Payroll Entitlement Parameters screen.

FieldDescription

Ent Type

Enter the type of entitlement to be defined in this field. Here are some of the most commonly used entitlement types:
  • S: Sick Leave
  • A: Annual Leave
  • L: Long Service Leave

Description

Enter the description for the entitlement in this field.

Ent Code

Enter a 1-character entitlement code to identify each different leave entitlement calculation set within the Entitlement Type.

For example: W for weekly and S for salaried employees.

This code is used when calling the Leave Details screen in the Employee Maintenance program.

It specifies which set of leave entitlements will be used to calculate the leave entitlement for the employee selected.

Year

Enter the number of years the employee has to be hired in order to have the entitlement calculated for the applicable period.

Entitlement

Enter the number of hours the employee receives as entitlement during the year.

Accrual Type

Enter the type of accrual in this field:

P: Prorata

Y: Yearly

M: Monthly

W: Weekly

H: Hourly (Normal time hours (inclusive of transaction types NT,AL,LSL,SWC) for permanent and temporary employees only).

If the value is "P", the calculation is done as a portion of the time the employee has been working since their last anniversary period.

Accrual Period

If the period type is not 'P', enter the number of periods between allocations of entitlement (eg. 1 month, 6 weeks, 3 weeks, etc) in this field.

Accrual Point

Enter the time the entitlement was given in this field.

B: Beginning

E: End

Accrual Only

Enter "Y" if the calculation is only for accrual.

Enter "N" if it is also for entitlement.

This is used for annual leave and long service leave.

Maximum Period

Enter the maximum entitlement to be allocated by period in this field.

Maximum Total

Enter the maximum entitlement to be given in this field.
