Field Order Scheduler screen

Use the Field Order Scheduler screen to view the field order schedule in a schedule board format. You can manage the schedule for field orders, add new field orders, and modify existing field orders. You can filter and view the schedule for field orders allowing you to better manage the workload and resources. When you add, modify, or delete an appointment on the scheduler board, ProContractor updates the Enter Field Order screen with the appointment information. If you add, modify, or delete an appointment on a field order, ProContractor updates the scheduler board with the appointment information.

The Uncompleted Field Orders pane shows active field orders that do not have a completed date. It is displayed at the bottom of both tabs on the Field Order Scheduler screen. You can hide and show the pane as needed. Use this pane to select the field order you want to schedule.

The Scheduled Field Orders tab displays a list of field orders for which there are appointments on the scheduler board for the date and number of days specified. From the Scheduled Field Orders tab, you can create a PDF of a field order document, view it, print it, attach it to an e-mail, or view its location in Google maps (requires an Internet connection and browser). You can also view, print, or export the list of scheduled field orders from this tab.

Note: The first time you open the Field Order Scheduler screen, you are prompted to add a view. You must add a view before you can use the screen. The screen defaults to the last company used in ProContractor. Once you have created a view for a company, you can change the company on the screen.

You must have the software required to open a PDF file—such as Adobe Reader—installed on your computer to be able to view it. You can also send an e-mail with the PDF file as an attachment. You must have MAPI-compliant e-mail software—such as Microsoft Outlook—installed on your computer to send an e-mail message with an attachment.

Note: To open the Field Order Scheduler screen, click Projects > Field Order Management > Field Order Scheduler in the All Tasks pane.

Field Order Scheduler Screen Tips

There are a number of ways you can save time and effort when working with the Field Order Scheduler screen.

  • You can reschedule an appointment on the board by dragging and dropping it to a new date and time.
  • You can reassign an appointment on the board by dragging and dropping it to a new resource.
  • Appointments on a field order with the same time, date, and duration are linked. If you reschedule or delete an appointment for a primary employee, all linked appointments are rescheduled or deleted accordingly.
  • When viewing the board for a day, you can adjust both the start and end times for an appointment by moving the ends of the bar.
  • Click to hide the Uncompleted Field Orders pane. Click to show the Uncompleted Field Orders pane.
  • An $ character appears at the beginning of the text on an appointment bar if the field order has a completed date.
  • An Ø character appears at the beginning of the text on an appointment bar if you do not have permissions to access the field order for the appointment.
  • Double-click on the scheduler board to create an appointment for the field order selected in the Uncompleted Field Orders pane.
  • Double-click on an existing appointment to edit the appointment.
  • Double-click on a field order in the Uncompleted Field Orders pane to modify the field order.
  • Double-click on a field order in the Scheduled Field Orders tab to modify the field order.
  • You can schedule an appointment for a field order by clicking on the field order in the Uncompleted Field Orders pane and dragging it on to the scheduler board.
  • You can schedule an appointment for a field order by clicking on the field order in the Uncompleted Field Orders pane and dragging it on to the Scheduled Field Orders grid.
  • You can copy a field order and paste it on a new date and time on the scheduler board. ProContractor creates a new field order based on the copied field order with the following changes:
    • ProContractor automatically generates a new field order number.
    • The date of the new field order is the date where you pasted it on the scheduler board. This is also the date for the first appointment for the new field order.
    • Additional appointment dates are modified relative to the date of the new field order.
    • The PDF file for the new field order is saved in the background.
    • You can paste the copied field order as many times as needed without having to re-copy the original field order. Each time you paste the copied field order, a new field order is created.
