Resolve Issues with OneDrive

Storing your Object Manager files in a directory controlled by OneDrive can cause issues. Follow these steps to resolve them.

In most cases, moving the files out from OneDrive control fixes any issues.

Some companies report that they have had Object Manager files on OneDrive for a long time without problems. Even though this is the case, Trimble will not follow up on any support case where Object Manager files are on OneDrive, since we know that this is the cause of very many obscure problems.

The most common issue is that the My Documents folder is controlled by OneDrive and therefore also the default folder My Documents\Novapoint. To move this, do as follows:

  1. Close Object Manager.
  2. Create a new folder, for example, C:\Object Manager.
  3. Copy everything in My Documents\Novapoint to C:\Object Manager.
  4. Start Object Manager and navigate to Settings in the main hamburger menu. Look through all settings and change all places where things are located under My Documents\Novapoint to the new C:\Object Manager folder.
Note: My Documents\Novapoint is the same as C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Novapoint.
  5. Delete My Documents\Novapoint.
Note: You have to open binders from the new location. The Recently used list will not work the first time after moving.
To check if you really have moved everything, do some operations in Object Manager in some workset, then press Ctrl+Shift+F12 to open the log file. Then search for OneDrive. If there is any hit at all, you will still have issues.

If the problem persists after you have removed all files from OneDrive control, contact Support.
