Enter names for WBS and UBS codes from the Catalog tab

  1. Open a job in the Manage Estimates screen.
  2. From the Catalog tab, click Define on the speedbar and select Globals.
  3. For each WBS and UBS code, enter a descriptive name in the Code column. By default, the WBS codes are named WBS1 through WBS20 and the UBS codes are named UBS1 through UBS5.
  4. From the Parent column, click to select the parent WBS or UBS code if needed.
  5. In the Mask field, enter characters that will appear in place of the code value when adding or editing values.
  6. Select the Read Only checkbox to make the code read only, which prevents any one from changing the code value on a cost item. WBS codes used with Alternates and Change Orders are automatically set to read only.
Note: You can add values to WBS codes from this popup window by clicking WBS Codes or to UBS codes by clicking UBS Codes. See WBS/UBS Code Values for more information.
  7. When you have finished entering WBS/UBS code names, click OK.
