Setting Up Surcharge Rates

Set up surcharge rates.

  1. Click the Rates tab.
  2. In the Sequence field, enter N or + to add a new rate sequence.
  3. In the Location Group field, enter the location group to which this surcharge rate applies.
  4. Use the Location, Category, Material, Truck Type, UM, and/or Zone fields to enter additional rate criteria.
    Note: The more criteria you enter, the more specific your rates will be. This means the system will only apply the rates if the data entered on the ticket matches the criteria specified here exactly. For more information, see Surcharge Rate Hierarchy.
  5. In the Surcharge Rate field, enter the rate to use for all surcharges calculated on or after the Effective Date.
  6. In the Min Amt field, enter the minimum amount you require for surcharges. Enter 0.00 if you do not have a minimum amount. This amount will be used for surcharges applied on after the Effective Date.
  7. In the Old Surcharge Rate field, enter the rate to use for surcharges calculated prior to the Effective Date.
  8. In the Old Min Amt field, enter the minimum amount you require for surcharges. Enter 0.00 if you do not have a minimum amount. This amount will be used for surcharges applied prior to the Effective Date.
  9. Save the record.
  10. Repeat to enter additional surcharge rates.
