Definitions of the five cost methods available for task templates.
Each cost method represents a different level of detail:
- Plug
- Allows you to plug a unit cost. These are summarized in the "Plug" cost category within estimates.
- Subcontracted
- Used for tasks performed by outside vendors. You add specific subcontractors once the template is in an estimate.
- Quick
- Allows you to break down a template into cost categories (e.g., Labor, Material) and enter unit costs for each.
- Detail
- The most powerful method; allows for unlimited detail, including crew templates and trucking components.
- Comparison
- Used to compare self-performed unit costs against subcontractor quotes.
