Add a Spectrum User in the Admin Console

Modified: 21 Aug 2026 Spectrum User Management Help

Take these steps if you want to secure the user's license in the Admin Console before configuring the user in Spectrum.

Trimble recommends adding users directly within Spectrum. It is more streamlined than adding users in the Admin Console because you can both assign a license and set local permissions simultaneously. See Create a New Operator Record (with Trimble Licensing).
Proceed with the steps on this page only if you want to secure the license in the Admin Console before configuring the user in Spectrum.
  1. Sign in to the Admin Console at accounts.trimble.com.
  2. Follow the steps at Assign Licenses to Users, then return here.
If the user doesn't have a Trimble ID, the Admin Console sends an invite to create one.
Note: The number of available licenses for that license type is reduced even if the user doesn't create their Trimble ID.
  3. You can finalize the setup in Spectrum as long as the user has created their Trimble ID.
    1. Go to System Administration > Security > Operator Maintenance.
The Complete Operator Setup window opens and the user you created is displayed in the list.
    2. Choose the user record.
    3. Select Continue.
      The New Operator window appears.
  4. Review the auto-populated information and edit it as needed. For detailed instructions, see Create a New Operator Record (with Trimble Licensing).
