Update the Plan

  1. Open a job in the Manage Estimates screen.
  2. From the Takeoff tab, click Sheets and select the sheet you want to work with from the list.
  3. Click Sheet and select Update Sheet.
  4. Select one of the following Import from options:
    • My Computer – Select this option if the updated plan has been copied to your hard drive. Click Browse to locate the file.

    • Online Plan Room – Select this option to download drawings from an online plan room. Type the URL in the text box and click Retrieve, at which point your default Internet browser will open and log onto the Web site you specified. From there, follow the Web site's instructions for downloading plans.

    • Internet Site – Select this option to launch a Web browser to a specified URL. This option still requires you to manually download the plans to your hard drive.
  5. Navigate to the location on the computer where the revised sheet exists.
  6. Select the sheet file and click Open.
  7. Optional: In the Revision Information field, enter any revision information for the sheet.
    Note: If you selected a PDF file, the application determines whether to open the file in Advanced Image Manager based on the last setting of the Use Advanced Image Manager for PDFs checkbox on the Get Plans window.
  8. Click OK.
    Take note of the sheet name in the Plans list. It will retain its original name even though the revised sheet may have had a different name.
    Note: Don't forget to adjust any annotations that are now misplaced due to revisions made to the sheet. See Manage Annotations for more information on this process.
