Enter Time - Labor

Once you have selected a job from your job list, you can enter timecards through the Labor Time and Equipment Time tasks on the home screen. When you enter the Labor Time section, a list of the employees assigned to your selected job through the web portal displays.

Your current selected job is also displayed at the top of this page, as is the date.

If you need to enter timecards for a date other than the one displayed, you must change it on this screen—you cannot change it on an individual employee's timecard screen. To do so, simply tap the date and adjust accordingly.

Note: Time card entries are restricted to the current payperiod. This applies to labor, quantities, job clock, equipment time and add-ons. If you attempt to change an entry to a date outside the current payperiod, an error message will display and you will be unable to save the entry.

Tap on an employee's name to reach the timecard screen for the selected date. Set the "Hrs for Day" first. This value is for the total hours to be allocated for this employee for the day, including all types of entries and phase codes. Tap the clock icon next to Hrs for Day to adjust the start and stop times or total shift hours, and tap the Save icon in the upper-right hand corner. To enter timecards, move to the fields below the blue bar. Select your entry type (Labor, Labor and Equipment, Equipment Charge, or Vacation, Holiday, Sick Time Off or Unpaid), and relevant fields display.

  • Labor: For simple Labor only hours, you can enter the hours, condition (Late Excused, Late Unexcused, Weather, Other), pay type (Regular, Overtime, Double-time, Vacation, Holiday, Sick, Unpaid, and JX- job only), and relevant phase codes assigned by an administrator through the web portal.

  • Labor and Equipment: You can select this option from the "Entry Type" field, and "Equipment" and "Equipment Hours."

  • Equipment Charge: This entry type allows you to allocate the labor hours to be charged as a cost against a piece of equipment. Select "Equipment Charge" from the "Entry Type" field, and "Cost Code" and "Equipment" fields display. You will again be able to select a piece of equipment to charge labor hours from the list assigned to the selected job, and the "Cost Code" field allows you to select an equipment cost category with the labor timecard you are entering.

To prevent export errors, use the "Unpaid" entry type to enter unpaid time instead of entry type 'Sick/Vacation/Holiday' with Paid=OFF and charge job=OFF.

  • Time Off: If entering for time off (either Vacation, Holiday, Sick or Unpaid), there are options at the bottom of the timecard to check "Paid" or "Charge Job" as appropriate.

If the number of hours entered in the first timecard does not account for all of your set "Hours for Day," the blue bar underneath the date will display your "Unallocated" hours, and you will not be able to save the employee's time until all hours are allocated.

To add timecards to the same day, tap the plus icon on the top-right corner of the screen. All of your unallocated hours will automatically be assigned to the "Labor Hours" field, and you can adjust the value if necessary. You can also delete timecards by tapping minus in the upper-right corner.

When all hours have been allocated, save the timecards by clicking the Save icon in the top-right corner. If you tap the back button to return to the full employee list without tapping Save, you will lose all timecards entered.

Once you have saved your timecards, you will be returned to the Labor Time page automatically. You will be able to see your saved timecards in totals underneath each employee's name, and a green check mark or red circle will indicate which employees' cards have been synced to the web portal and which need to be uploaded when you have an Internet connection.
