Vista 2021 R2.04

This release includes year-end regulatory changes for the United States and Canada, and includes defect fixes that apply to all geographies.

Important: As of December 2021, Aatrix is now required for year-end regulatory reporting. As a result, several changes were made to 1099, 1094/1095, W-2, T4, and T5018 processing.

1099 Reporting (United States)

Aatrix is now required for 1099 reporting. As a result, the following changes were made to AP 1099 processing:
  • AP 1099 Processing Menu - This form was removed, as it is no longer needed.
  • AP 1099 Totals - This form was retitled to "AP 1099 Processing". In addition, the following changes were made:
    • On the Corrected Filing tab, the Corrected Filing checkbox and Error Type fields are now disabled, as they are no longer being used. Corrected filings must now be handled directly in Aatrix. However, these fields remain visible for historical purposes.
    • A Tasks menu was added, with Edit Transactions and Download options. These options provide access to the AP 1099 Edit Transactions and AP 1099 Download forms, respectively.
  • AP 1099 Edit Transactions - Access to this form is now via the Edit Transactions option in the Tasks menu of AP 1099 Processing. No other functionality was changed.
  • AP 1099 Download - Removed the following fields, as they are no longer applicable:
    • Payer Name Control
    • Transmitter Control Code
    • Combined Fed/State Filer
    • Test File
    • Corrected Filing
    • Is this a prior year corrected filing?

In addition, removed the Download button. Printing and eFiling of 1099s must be done via Aatrix; therefore, the ability to create an export file is no longer available. For information about using Aatrix for 1099s , see Create the 1099 eFile Using Aatrix.

Note: Aatrix does not send data back to Vista. To keep your data in sync, if corrections are needed after you transmit 1099 data to Aatrix (but before the filing is submitted to the taxing authority), you can either:
    • cancel the file in Aatrix, make your corrections in Vista, and re-transmit the data to Aatrix or,
    • make the corrections directly in Aatrix and then manually update the data in Vista.
Regardless of which option you choose for correcting data, your records are still considered original filings and are flagged accordingly. For information about correcting filings once they have been submitted to the taxing authority, see Make Corrections to Regulatory Filings via Aatrix.
  • Removed the following reports, as they are no longer being used:
    • AP 1099 Dividend Print Form Copy B (ID# 1)
    • AP 1099 Dividend Print Form Copy C (ID# 2)
    • AP 1099 Interest Print Form Copy B (ID# 3)

Affordable Care Act (ACA) Reporting Changes for 2021

Affordable Care Act reporting has been updated to meet IRS 2021 specifications. These changes are as follows:

  • PR ACA Initialize - Modified the initialization process to support changes to 1094s and 1095s for reporting year 2021. This includes the addition of two new 1095-C Offer Codes to the 1095-C Offer Code drop-down:
    • 1T - HRA, residence ZIP, employee/spouse

    • 1U - HRA, workplace ZIP, employee/spouse

In addition, the initialization process now calculates employee age as of January 1 of the specified tax year when 1T or 1U exists for the employee.

Note: This Employee Age value is required only if the employee was offered an individual coverage HRA during the tax year.

The initialization process has also been modified to record appropriate values for ZIP Code (Line 17) in relation to new coverage codes 1T and 1U.

  • HR ACA Coverage Offer Init - Added two new offer codes to the Offer Code drop-down:
    • 1T - HRA, residence ZIP, employee/spouse
    • 1U - HRA, workplace ZIP, employee/spouse
  • HR Resources, ACA History tab - Two new Series One codes were added to the Series One Code drop-down:
    • 1T - HRA, residence ZIP, employee/spouse
    • 1U - HRA, workplace ZIP, employee/spouse

Using a Vendor SSN instead of EIN in AP Vendors

You can now choose to use a vendor's Social Security Number or Employer Identification Number in the Tax ID # field of AP Vendors, Add'l Info tab.

To enable identifying the Tax ID value, a new EIN/SSN drop-down was added to the AP Vendors form. Just select either EIN or SSN to indicate what the Tax ID value represents.
Note: When you enter the vendor's Tax ID, make sure you omit dashes and spaces.
