Selection Controls

The selection toolbar can be used to interact with the model objects selected in the 3D view.

ToolDescription
Selection PropertiesOpens the Properties Panel.
Add Object AttachmentsObjects can be linked to files, ToDos, and URLs.
Fit To ViewFit to view the selected objects.
Color and Transparency SettingsModel color and transparency can be changed using the color icon. The transparency is 0% by default.
Hide SelectionHide the selected objects.
Show Only Selected ObjectsHide all but selected objects.
Change VisibilityOther Visibility OptionsThe dropdown menu has options to Show all hidden objects, Isolate layers and Unisolate layers.

View a Selection's Properties

You can view a selection's properties in the 3D viewer.

To view the properties:
  1. Open your project in Trimble Connect for Browser navigate to the 3D Viewer.
  2. Select the objects that you want to view properties for.
    The Selection Toolbar will display at the bottom of the screen.
  3. On the toolbar, select View properties panel.

Add Object Attachments

You can add attachments to objects in the 3D viewer.

To add object attachments:
  1. Open your project in Trimble Connect for Browser navigate to the 3D Viewer.
  2. Once you are inside the Viewer, select the objects that you want to add attachments to.
    The Selection Toolbar will display at the bottom of the screen.
  3. On the toolbar, select Add object attachments.
  4. Choose between creating a new ToDo or other attachment type.

Change Object Color and Transparency

You can change the color and transparency of an object in the 3D viewer.

To change an object's color:
  1. Open your project in Trimble Connect for Browser navigate to the 3D Viewer.
  2. Once you are inside the Viewer, select some objects.
    The Selection Toolbar will display at the bottom of the screen.
  3. On the toolbar, select Color and transparency settings.
  4. Select the desired color and transparency.
Note: Color settings can be saved with views.

Fit Objects to the 3D Model View

In Trimble Connect for Browser's 3D Viewer, follow these steps to fit objects to the 3D model view.

To fit objects to view:
  1. Open your project in Trimble Connect for Browser.
  2. Navigate to the 3D Viewer.
    For more information, see Accessing the 3D Viewer.
  3. Once you are inside the Viewer, select the objects that you want to fit to view.
    Once the objects are selected, the Selection Toolbar will display at the bottom of the screen.
  4. On the toolbar, select Fit to View.

Hide a Selection

In Trimble Connect for Browser's 3D Viewer, follow these steps to hide a selection.

To hide a selection:
  1. Open your project in Trimble Connect for Browser and navigate to the 3D Viewer.
  2. Once you are inside the Viewer, select the objects that you want to hide.
    The Selection Toolbar will display at the bottom of the screen.
  3. On the toolbar, select Hide Selection.
    Your selection will be hidden.
Note: You can revert by clicking the Hide Selection button again (while the object(s) are still selected). Alternatively click Show All from the main toolbar.

Show Only the Selected Objects

After selecting objects in Trimble Connect for Browser's 3D Viewer, you can show only those that you have selected.

To show only selected objects:
  1. Open your project in Trimble Connect for Browser and navigate to the 3D Viewer.
  2. Once you are inside the Viewer, select the objects that you want to show.
    The Selection Toolbar will display at the bottom of the screen.
  3. On the toolbar, select Show Only Selected Objects.
    All other objects and models will be hidden.
Note: You can revert by clicking the Show Only Selected Objects button again (while the object(s) are still selected). Alternatively click Show All from the main toolbar.
