Calculate Estimated Cost From Hours
Use this window to enter a new Rate / hour and have the system adjust the estimated hours and costs.
These changes will then be reflected in the current hours and current cost, or the original hours and original cost fields, respectively (depending on what field you were in when you opened the window). If any hours or costs have already been entered, they will default to this window, but if you change any two fields in this window the third field will then re-compute automatically.
After you make your changes and click OK, the hours and cost entered in the window will default back onto the main screen.

Enter the number of hours you want the calculation to be based on. If you are making a change to the estimated hours press Enter to make the Rate / hour field change. Press Tab if you want the system to recalculate the estimated cost using the rate / hour shown. |

Enter the new rate / hour or if you are making a change to the rate / hour, use the arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate to this field if you want to recalculate. Use the up-arrow to calculate hours, or press Enter (or down-arrow) to calculate the estimated cost based on the new rate / hour. |
Estimated cost |
The estimated cost computes automatically based on the entries in the Hours and Rate / Hour fields. For a unit price phase, if the quantity and unit price have already been recorded, then the Estimated cost will default to the product of 'quantity X unit price.' If you are making a change to the estimated cost, press Enter to recalculate the hours or press the up-arrow to recalculate the rate / hour. |
