BCF Topics
In Trimble Connect Object Manager, BCF topics allow you to communicate with other participants in the project.
- Trimble Connect for Browser: BCF Topics
- Trimble Connect for Browser: BFC Topic Settings
However, Object Manager's BCF topics feature has a few key differences.
Object Manager-Specific Aspects of BCF Topics
User navigation has various differences defined below.
- To open the Topics pane in Object Manager, select .
- Creating Topics for Object Manager requires selecting models in Trimble Connect to ensure that proper views are generated. For more information, see Associate Trimble Connect Models to a Topic Created in Object Manager.
- Object Manager uses the Add Models feature when
creating a new topic.
- When a new Topic is created in Trimble Connect, the main view is always associated with the currently loaded models. These models are then automatically loaded when the topic details are opened inside Trimble Connect. No Add Models option is available by default.
- When a new Topic is created in Object Manager, you must select the models you want to associate with the Topic in order to also get a functioning View inside Trimble Connect for Browser. An Add Models option is available when creating a Topic inside the application.
- Object manager displays 3D models differently when selecting
a topic's saved viewpoint.
- In Trimble Connect Object Manager, the viewpoint is applied to the models that are already loaded in your current session. It will not load new models automatically.
- In Trimble Connect for Browser, the specific models linked to the topic are automatically loaded first, and then the viewpoint is activated.
- Markers are currently displayed in all presentation setups and follow the type configuration in the Connected Project. For more information, see Markers.
- You can associate selected features and model objects to a topic in the application. For more information, see Re-link a Model File in a Topic.
- The Fit to View feature is not available when accessing topics in Object Manager.
