Use Merge
Use the Merge function to merge two or three pages into a single PDF page or Digital Takeoff image. This feature is useful when performing a takeoff that spans multiple pages.
Select your layers and pages before using Merge.
All pages must be the same original size and scale. The images can be merged horizontally or vertically. More than one page must be selected for the Merge function to become available.
Setup
After you have selected the pages you want to merge, use the Setup section to select the:

Number of Pages – Select two or three pages that are being merged into one PDF.

Merge Type – Select Vertical or Horizontal as the orientation for your merged file.
Left Pane
- Drag the page listed in the top box to the position you want it to be in for the merge.
- Once dragged in, a thumbnail preview of the page is shown in its designated position.
- For a vertical merge of three pages, you will place the pages in positions of Bottom, Middle, and Top.
- For a horizontal merge of three pages, place the pages according to Left, Center, and Right positions.
- Choose Clear Selections to clear the page positions and start over with your placements. Notice the labels on the left when dragging the pages to the thumbnail preview.
Trim/Align
After you have made your setup selections, move to the Trim/Align section to specify the sizing and placement of the merged file. The trim options depend on the number of pages. The status bar at the bottom displays size information. If you need to start over with the original pages, select Restore at any time.
Using the Trim and Align tools: You can use your mouse to move the slide bar for major trimming or aligning adjustments. You can use the arrow keys on your keyboard for making more fine adjustments.
- Trim 1/2, 2/3 – Shows two pages at a time for you to trim each one, using the sliders in each direction for each page. Notice the labels on the left when you are aligning pages for the Trim 1/2 or Trim 2/3 page designation.
- Align – In the left pane, a slider bar displays for each page you are going to merge so you can adjust the page's position. Select the reset bar if you need to change your alignment.
- Apply Changes – When you are satisfied with your image trimming and alignment, choose Apply Changes to preview your changes.
- Restore – Select Restore to return to the file list screen to select the page to drag to position and start over trimming and aligning.
Export/Save
After you have successfully trimmed and aligned your pages, use the Export/Save section to save your merged file.
- Export to Digital Takeoff – Saves the merged PDF to the default location for Digital Takeoff.
- Save As PDF – Saves the merged files as a PDF to the default location set in Merge Options.
- Select Merge Options to establish the settings in the PDF Document Merge Options window.
