Export the estimate to Master Builder using the API

When exporting through the API, the following are relevant fields: Bid, Cost Code, Part Number, Phase, Task, and Vendor.

  1. Verify that the Master Builder API is running.
  2. Open the Manage Estimates screen and open the estimate job from which you want to export information.
  3. Click Estimating > Tools > Estimating Import/Export Tool in the All Tasks pane.
  4. From the Import tab, select MasterBuilder.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click Select Master Builder Catalog.
  7. Navigate to the folder that contains your Master Builder database and click OK.
  8. In the WBS Code Mapping area, click to select the appropriate value for each WBS code.
    Note: Not all codes are required. Viewpoint recommends Cost Code and Division at a minimum.
  9. In the Import/Export area, select the Export option.
  10. Click OK.
  11. If the Select Catalog popup window opens, select a catalog and click OK.
  12. When the export is complete, click OK.
