Use Property Sets in 3D

Apply Property Sets to BIM Data

Property sets and property set libraries can be applied to model objects and Organizer groups.

Any member of your project who has an Innovate, Business Premium license, or higher will be able to apply an entire library or individual property sets.

To apply property sets:

  1. Load a model in Trimble Connect for Browser's 3D Viewer.
  2. Select objects in 3D and open the Property panel.
  3. Open the Overflow menu in the panel header.
  4. Select Add properties.
    The Add Properties panel will open.
  5. Select the property sets you want to use.
  6. Select Done.
    The property sets will be added to the selected items (indicated by the Edit icon).

Edit a Property Set Applied to BIM Data

You can edit a property sets applied to BIM data.

Property sets can be edited by any user who has Edit Access and a license of Innovate, Business Premium, or higher.
To edit a property set:
  1. Load a model in Trimble Connect for Browser's 3D Viewer.
  2. Select objects in 3D and open the property panel.
  3. Select Edit next to the Property Set name.
    The Edit panel will overlay.
  4. Edit the values for any of the properties.
  5. When you are done with your edits, select Save.

Remove a Property Set from BIM Data

You can remove a property set from BIM data.

Property sets can be removed by any user who has Edit Access and a license of Innovate, Business Premium, or higher.
Important: Use caution, since all data associated with the property set will be permanently removed once you confirm to delete. This cannot be undone.
To remove a property set:
  1. Load a model in Trimble Connect for Browser's 3D Viewer.
  2. Select Objects in 3D and open the Property panel.
  3. Select Edit next to the Property Set name.
    The Edit panel will overlay.
  4. Select Delete (located in the panel header).
    A confirmation dialog displays.
  5. Select Remove.

Real-Time Updates

When there is more than one person viewing or editing or interacting with a custom property set, and a change has been made, a notification will be displayed to the user.

At this time it is not possible to show who the other user is that is make changes at the same time you are.

Display of the Notification

There are a few different times you will receive notifications in the application which indicate a change has been made to a property set.

Updates to a property value or property set

If another user has made changes to a property set you are looking at, like editing a property value, you will see a notification in the panel.

You will not be able to make any edit until you select Refresh.

Addition of a property sets

If another user adds more property sets to the objects you are looking at, you will see a notification in the panel. Select Refresh to see the latest data.

Removal of a property set

If another user removes a property set from the objects you are looking at, you will see a notification in the panel. Select Refresh to see the latest data.

Multi-user edits

If another user makes changes to the property set you are editing, upon saving your changes, you will be asked to confirm you would like to save your changes and overwrite their edits.

Property Set Versions

If a new version of a library has been published, you will be required to update to the latest version before you can edit a property set from that library.

Once you have updated to the latest version, you will see the new changes noted with labels next to the changed fields.
