Clean Up your Worksets

Follow these steps to clean up your worksets.

If you have downloaded several worksets for the same projects, it is easy to get confused about what happens. Reservations are stored in a workset and only valid in that workset. So if you restart Object Manager and happen to open another workset for the same project, you may be confused that your reservations seem gone.

We recommend always to have only one workset per PC for the same project. If you switch between different PCs and have a workset on each of them, you should release all reservations on one before you change to another and continue working. Each reservation will only be valid for the workset you reserved with.

If you have several worksets on your pc and want to clean things up:

  1. Get a list of your worksets. For instructions, see step 3 of Find the Location of a Workset.
  2. For each workset that corresponds to the project you want to clean up, open it in Object Manager with Open Binder and by selecting the Binder file for that workset.
  3. To check if there are changes to share in this workset, select Share.
  4. If you decide this is not the workset you will continue to work with, share any changes.
  5. Right-click the cloud symbol in the Object Manager Explorer window for that workset and select Disconnect.
This will delete all files for that workset from your pc and also let the server know you are no longer working with this workset.
  6. If there a workset you can't open but have changes you want to save, you should send it to support. For instructions, see Upload a Workset to Support. Alternatively, if you know there is nothing important there, just delete the directory containing the QuadriModel file. Let your Model Manager Administrator know you have deleted this workset so it can be disconnected from the shared Object Model as well.
