How are dates used on the work order?
Use the below definitions for dates on work orders.
Order Date: This is the date that the work order was created. It will default to the Current Processing Date for Preventive Maintenance. This date is used in the calculations for the Mean Time Before Failure Report and Mean Time to Repair Report.
Required date: Enter the date that the equipment needs to be back in service. This date is used in the calculations for the Historical format of the Backlog Report.
Work start date and time: This represents the date that work is begun on this work order.
Work finish date and time: This represents the date that assigned work is finished on this work order. When a Finished date is entered, the work order status will switch automatically to 'Finished'.
Returned to service date: This represents the date that the equipment is actually sent back into service. This date is used in the calculations for the Historical format of the Backlog Report, the Mean Time Before Failure Report and the Mean Time to Repair Report.
Closed date: This represents the date that the work order is closed. When a date is entered, the work order status is set to Closed.
Of these six date fields, only the Required date is not validated to fall within the minimum / maximum Preventive Maintenance processing date range (the other fields all verify that the entered date is within the range).
