Operator Maintenance

Use this screen to set up and maintain Spectrum operators and their default settings.

To open this screen, go to System Administration > Security > Operator Maintenance.

The number of tabs that display depends on other settings in the system. For example, the Jobs tab displays only if the Utilize job-based security checkbox is selected on the Job Cost Installation - Security tab.

Information you enter here overrides the general scheme settings on the Enterprise Installation screen for the individual operator in this company only.

These buttons appear when you open the screen.

ListingSelect to open the Operator Listing report launcher in a new tab.
User CountsOpens a window displaying user counts.
SearchPress Enter to see a list of all the operators who are set up in the current company, or use the drop-down arrow to narrow your search.
Status TypeFilter the operator list based on current status.
These buttons appear after you select Go to perform a search.

E-mailSend an email within the Spectrum application.
DashboardSelect to modify the dashboard layout for a user. Opens the Dashboard Layout Settings screen in a new tab.
FavoritesSelect to modify the menu for a user. Opens the Menu Builder screen in a new tab.
Clear Trimble ID

For use with operators who created a Trimble ID using an email which didn't match the email address in Spectrum.

Highlight a record from the grid and select this button to open the Clear Trimble ID window, which describes when this option should and shouldn't be used.

Update Status / TypeModify the status and user license type.
Migrate Operators to Trimble Construction OneSelect to create Trimble Construction One IDs for the selected operator(s). This enables the user to login and use Trimble Construction One applications like Team and Service Tech Mobile.

Columns in the grid

The grid shows all records and their column values. They are view-only. To make changes to a record, double-click it or select it and then select Edit.
Column nameDescription
Logon IDThe ID assigned to the user.
E-mailEntry of a unique email address is required when entering a new operator, or modifying an existing operator.
Migrated to TC1?Indicates whether this user has been migrated to Trimble Construction One.
TID username

This field is editable only until the user has logged in for the first time using their Trimble ID.

Once the user logs in using their Trimble ID, this field is disabled.

User typeThe user license type assigned to the operator.
CodeThe alphanumeric code that represents this operator.
Operator nameUsually the operator's given names and surname.
Default companyIf you need to change the default company for an operator, select an operator, select the Edit button, and then select the Companies tab.
StatusMany Spectrum screens allow you to filter the records based on the status type.
Default schemeThe security scheme currently applied to the user.
ProfileAll users are initially set to DEFAULT.
Contact typeEntry appears only if a contact record has been associated.
