Enable Enhanced Authentication in Spectrum (optional)

Enhanced authentication provides additional security by allowing you to implement a client ID and rotating secret code when connecting to Spectrum Web Services. You have the option to configure this for the data connection between Spectrum and Traqspera.

The secret code expires after a set number of days that you choose during configuration. You must reset this secret code before your expiration date passes. For more details, see Enable Enhanced Authentication in Spectrum Help.
Note: Enabling or disabling enhanced authentication takes effect after services restart overnight.
  1. In Spectrum, select System Administration > Installation > Data Exchange.

This opens the Data Exchange Installation screen.

  2. Select Settings.

The Data Exchange Settings window opens.

  3. Select the checkbox to enable enhanced authentication.

  4. Enter the number of days required to rotate the secret, from 7 to 120 days.
  5. Select OK.

This generates a client ID and client secret with the specified expiration date for enhanced authentication. This information is stored in Spectrum with your authorization ID for the data connection.

  6. To find your client ID, client secret, and secret expiration date, return to the Data Exchange Installation screen in Spectrum:
    1. Select System Administration > Installation > Data Exchange.
    2. In the search field, enter TRAQ, and select Go.
    3. Select your authorization ID from the list.
Tip: If you have more than one authorization ID, look for the one associated with the relevant company.
The Edit Authorization ID window opens where you can view your Authorization ID and Client ID.

    4. To view your client secret, select the Secret Status button in the upper right.

This opens a separate window where you will find your client ID, client secret, and the current expiration date for your secret code.

Add Data Exchange Credentials to Traqspera. As part of this step, you will configure enhanced authentication in Traqspera.
