Troubleshooting the Data Connection

If you have issues with the data connection between Traqspera and Spectrum, refer to the following instructions for help troubleshooting those issues.

The key areas to troubleshoot include:
  • The security scheme access level for your Traqspera operator
  • The security scheme setup
  • The companies authorized for the data connection
  1. Confirm the security scheme access level for your Traqspera operator | To do this, in Spectrum, select System Administration > Security > Operator Maintenance.
  2. Open the Traqspera operator record you used during Quick Setup.
  3. Select the Properties tab.
    1. Confirm that the Default Scheme is set to Full Access.
    2. Select OK.
  4. If you use cost centers:
    1. Select the Scheme tab.
    2. Select Specify Company Overrides.
    3. Confirm that the Cost Center Scheme is set to FULL (Full Access).
    4. Select OK.
  5. Review your security scheme setup | To do this, in Spectrum, select System Administration > Installation > Data Exchange.
    Note: Optionally, you can set up a new security scheme to assign to your Traqspera operator. See Security Scheme Requirements for details.
  6. In the search field, enter TRAQ, and select Go.
  7. Select your authorization ID from the list.
    Tip: If you have more than one authorization ID, look for the one associated with the relevant company.

    The Edit Authorization ID window opens.

  8. Review web services by module:
    1. Select Build.

      The Build Web Services for Authorization ID window opens.

    2. Select the Search dropdown arrow, and then select a module. For example, Accounts Payable.
    3. Select Go.

      A library of web services available in that module displays.

    4. In the list of Authorized Web Services (right side of the window), confirm that you see the following web services at a minimum.
      Tip: To add a missing web service for a module, choose the Select button in the middle of the window to move that item to the list of Authorized Web Services.
      Important: For web services with an asterisk (*), you must override the default value for the maximum number of records allowed for the data exchange. See step 10 for details.

    5. When you are finished, select OK to return to the Edit Authorization ID window.
  9. For the specific web services in the Payroll, Equipment Control, and Job Cost modules that require an override to their default maximum number of records (web services marked with an asterisk in step 4d), do the following:
    1. In the Edit Authorization ID window, select one of the applicable web services from the Web service column list.
    2. Select the Options button above the grid.

      The Web Service Options window opens.

    3. Select the Counter Overrides tab.
    4. Confirm that the checkbox for Use standard Web Service defaults? is not selected. If not, deselect it.
    5. Confirm that the Max # of records is set to 20,000. If not, set it to 20,000.
    6. When you are finished, select OK to return to the Edit Authorization ID window.
  10. Confirm the companies that you want to connect to in Traqspera | To do this, in Spectrum, select System Administration > Security > Operator Maintenance.
  11. Select the Companies tab, and confirm the companies that you want to connect to in Traqspera:
    1. To add a company, select New.
    2. Select the New Company dropdown arrow.
    3. Select a company that you want to use in Traqspera.
    4. Select OK.
    5. Select OK again.
    6. Repeat steps 11a-11e for every other company code that you want to make available in Traqspera, including a sandbox company, primary company, secondary company, and any others.
  12. When you are finished editing information for your operator, select OK.
