What are the password requirements for Trimble ID?

How can I unlock my Trimble ID account if it's temporarily locked?
After five consecutive incorrect password attempts, your account is locked for 15 minutes. During that time, it displays this message:
Once the message no longer displays, sign in. If needed, reset your password.
What are the rules regarding password history, for example, reusing a previous password?
Trimble ID does not track password history and does not limit password reuse.
How often do I need to change my Trimble ID password?
Passwords do not have a maximum age and do not need to be changed based on age.
Is there a minimum amount of time required between password changes?
No, Trimble ID users do not have to wait a minimum time period between password changes.
Do passwords display in plain text?
By default, your password is obscured on screen. However, you can toggle an option to display it in plain text.
Can my organization set custom password policies for users?
To use custom password policies, your company needs to set up a federation with a 3rd-party enterprise identity provider (IdP), such as with Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, Google ID, or others. A federated setup permits user credentials and policies configured in the IdP to apply to Trimble ID.
What is the password policy regarding managed users?
- Minimum characters expected - 6 characters
- Maximum characters allowed - 16 characters
- Must contain at least 1 number, 1 uppercase letter, and 1 lowercase letter
- Special characters are not allowed
- Temporary passwords set by administrators expire in 180 days
