Adjusting the 3D Model View

When you are working in Trimble Connect for Windows, you can adjust how 3D models are shown. You can either fit models or objects to the 3D View, change the perspective of the 3D View, or reset all selections, markups, clip planes, and measurements in the 3D View.

Fit Models or Objects to the 3D View

In Trimble Connect for Windows, follow these steps to fit a selection to the 3D view.

  1. Load a model in the Trimble Connect for Windows 3D Viewer.
  2. Select the model or objects you want to fit to view.
  3. On the toolbar, select Fit to View.

Switch to Fullscreen Mode

In Trimble Connect for Windows, follow these steps to enter full screen mode.

  1. Load a model in the Trimble Connect for Windows 3D Viewer.
  2. If the Navigation Toolbar is hidden, select the middle of the Navigation Wheel.
    The Navigation Toolbar displays above the Navigation Wheel.
  3. On the toolbar, select Fullscreen Mode.
To exit full screen mode, select Fullscreen Mode again.

Change the Camera View

In Trimble Connect for Windows, follow these steps to change the camera view.

  1. Load a model in the Trimble Connect for Windows 3D Viewer.
  2. On the toolbar, open the Model Views menu.
  3. Select one of the model views:
    • Default (Axon) view
    • Top view
    • Front view
    • Left view
    • Back view
    • Right view
    • Bottom view

Change the Model Perspective

In Trimble Connect for Windows, follow these steps to change the model perspective.

  1. Load a model in the Trimble Connect for Windows 3D Viewer.
  2. On the visibility toolbar, select the Perspective/Orthogonal icon.
  • In perspective view, distant objects appear smaller than close ones.
  • In orthogonal view, the object's size is retained independently of the distance to the view point. You cannot navigate through objects in the orthogonal mode.

Reset the 3D View

In Trimble Connect for Windows, follow these steps to reset a 3D model.

  1. Load a model in the Trimble Connect for Windows 3D Viewer.
  2. On the toolbar, select Reset Model.
All selections, object colors, visibility, markups, clip planes, and measurements are reset.
