View Trenches in 3D, Grid, and Section Tabs

Viewing the trench in different views is a good method of checking the accuracy of a trench to spot any errors that may occur. An accurate and detailed inspection can be done within the 3D, Grid, and Section tabs.

Note: In the 3D, Grid, and Section tabs, the depth displayed is always the bottom of the trench itself, not the pipe invert.

3D Tab

See 3D Tab for information on navigating the 3D tab.

Section Tab

See Section Tab for information on navigating the Section tab.

Grid Tab

The Grid tab displays grid section totals for existing, proposed, substrata, and trench layers. See Grid Tab for information on non-trench specific Grid tab information.

With the Trench layer selected in the Active Layer field, the grid cells will display two values. The value displayed in the center of the cell is the volume in cubic yards removed from within that grid cells area for the trench only. The value displayed in the upper-left corner of the cell is the elevation or cut/fill depth change if the trench intersects the upper-left corner of the cell. All values are based and calculated on the proposed layer.
