Export summary data to Excel

  1. Open the Manage Estimates screen and open the estimate job from which you want to export information.
  2. Open the Summary tab.
  3. To export only certain columns or rows, select them now (you can select multiple columns/rows by holding Ctrl while clicking on the columns/rows you want to export).
  4. To export only the displayed columns, click Columns, then click Show. Choose the columns you want to make visible.
  5. Click Levels on the speedbar.
  6. In the Level 1 field in the Summary Criteria window, click to select the WBS code by which you want to summarize the estimate.
  7. Repeat step 6 for each level you want to summarize. You can summarize by up to 20 levels.
  8. Click OK. The Summary tab displays subtotals of the levels you selected.
  9. If you want to export only certain columns or rows, select them now.
  10. Click Estimating > Tools > Estimating Import/Export Tool in the All Tasks pane.
  11. From the Export tab, select Microsoft Excel.
  12. Click OK.
  13. In the Export Summary popup window, do one of the following:
    • Click Yes to export the summary view rows.

    • Click No to skip exporting the summary view rows and go to step 20.

Under Columns to Export, select the option for the columns you want to export. .

  • All – Export all columns.

  • Highlighted – Export only the columns you have highlighted in the catalog.

  • Visible – Export only the columns currently visible in your view.

Under Rows to Export, select the option for the rows you want to export. .

  • All – Export all rows.

  • Highlighted – Export only the rows highlighted in the catalog.

    Note: You can only select either certain columns or certain rows. You cannot select both. If you want to select the particular columns to export, you must export all rows. If you want to export particular columns and rows, create a filter to specify the rows you want to export and then select the columns.
  1. Click Browse and either navigate to an existing Excel file, or enter a name for a new file. If you select an existing Excel file, you are prompted to allow an overwrite.
  2. Select a folder, enter a File name, and click Save.
  3. Click Export.
  4. When the export is complete, click OK.
  5. In the Export Summary popup window, do one of the following:
    • Click Yes to export the summary view totals and repeat steps 13 - 19.

    • Click No to skip exporting the summary view totals.
