Catalog, Estimate, Alternates, and Summary Grid Icon and Keyboard Reference

The following tables explain the icons and keyboard shortcuts available across different tabs in the Estimating module.

Icon Reference

Description

Displays a drop-down list.

Expands an assembly cost item.

Collapses an assembly cost item.

$

Indicates a financial cost item.

Indicates the data in the column is sorted in ascending order.

Indicates the data in the column is sorted in descending order.

Displays reference and description information for an item. (No need to click, just mouse over.)

Opens the Help topic for the current screen.

Tab

Moves the cursor to the next field.

Shift + Tab

Moves the cursor to the previous field.

Ctrl+[Z]

Undo the previous action, such as edits to a cell, sorting a column sorting, and changing the column order. Not all actions can be undone. This keyboard shortcut works on the Takeoff, NotePad, Catalog, Estimate, Alternates, and Change Orders tabs. Once you move to a different tab or otherwise refresh the screen, you can no longer undo the previous action.
