Use the Create Bid screen to create a bid for a job from an estimate or a bid day estimate. A bid is a formal quote for a specific job. When you create a bid, the application locks the estimate associated with that bid to prevent other users from accessing it. Once you have saved a bid, you can no longer modify the estimate job.

You can also create a bid and an estimate job at the same time. This allows you to create a bid without having to create an estimate first.

To open the Create Bid screen, click Estimating > Bids & Proposals > Create Bid in the All Tasks Pane.
