Use the Digital Terrain Model screen to export elevation data to a Digital Terrain Model (DTM) file.

Digital Terrain Model files can be used to view the site in many CAD programs and can also be used in machine control systems. When you export these files, you are exporting a grid of elevations to the file. The actual contours and spot elevations are not exported. Elevations that are exported from Viewpoint Estimating as Digital Terrain Models have a DTX file extension.

When you export a Digital Terrain Model, you export a single layer from Viewpoint Estimating to the Digital Terrain Model file. You must also select the area on that layer to export. You cannot export a Digital Terrain Model if you have not created an area on that layer.
