Manage Grid Layouts

Flexible grid layouts allow you to add or remove fields, filter and sort columns, and group by a column in a header.

Changes to flexible grids can be saved to the logged in user's profile. Grid layouts are found on the following pages in the portal: Timecard Dashboard, Onboarding Dashboard, Job Requisitions, Applicant Search, Expense Posting Dashboard, and Credit Card Import.
  1. To add or remove columns:
    1. Select the Column Settings button in the column header .
    2. Hover your mouse over the Columns option to see the list of available columns.
    3. Select the checkbox for the fields to add to the grid, or deselect the checkbox for fields to remove from the grid.

Note: The list of available fields cannot be changed.
  2. To filter a column, use the following options:
Note: The Timecard Dashboard does not have this filter option. See the next step for details about how to filter and search columns on the Timecard Dashboard.
    • Select the Column Settings button in the column header, hover your mouse over the Filter option, and enter text to filter by in the search field.

Select OK to implement the filter.

    • Additional filtering capabilities allow you to Sort A to Z or Sort Z to A.
    • You can also set Text Filters, which include custom filter options where you can enter specific values and set case sensitivity.
    • To clear filters, select Clear Filter > OK.

  3. For the Timecard Dashboard only: Columns with text or numeric values have a typeable search bar where you can enter characters to search. Columns with other values such as checkmarks or selection menus are not searchable. To filter and search text in columns on the Timecard Dashboard, do the following:
    1. In the search field below the column header, type the characters you want to search and press Enter.

This method only works to search for whole values or part of the value that comes at the beginning.

    2. To search for any characters in a column, regardless of where they fall in the value, type an asterisk ( * ) followed by your text. This method of searching only applies to alphabetic characters. You can't search for numbers or symbols in this way.

If you do not add the asterisk before your text, unless the text is at the beginning of the value, the search will display no results found.

    3. To clear a search entry, select the X in the column search field.
  4. To group columns by a column header, drag and drop the column header to the top of the grid where it says Drag a column header here to group its column.
In this example, you can drag and drop the Status column to the top of the grid to view data sorted by status.

  5. To sort columns, use the following options:
To sort just one column at a time, you can do either of the following:
    • Select the column header once to sort in ascending order or twice to sort in descending order. Select the column a third time to clear the sort.
    • Select the Column Settings button in the column header. Then select Sort Ascending or Sort Descending.
To sort multiple columns at a time:
    • Hold Ctrl and select the headers of the columns you want to sort. While continuing to hold Ctrl, select a column once to sort in ascending order or twice to sort in descending order. Select a third time to clear the sort for that column.

The order that you select each column determines the order the data in that column is sorted. See the sort order by the number indicated next to the column header name.

  6. To change the column width, hover your mouse over the column divider.
Note: The resize tool appears only if your web browser's magnification is set at 100% or higher.
  7. To save the current grid layout, select the Grid Layout button, and then select Save Grid Layout.
  8. If you have saved a grid layout but want to clear all of your changes, select the Grid Layout button, and then select Reset Grid Layout.
