Print Barcode and QR Code Labels

You can create a printable report of labels that include the name of each location or asset and its barcode or QR code. Print these labels and place each one in a specific locations or on a specific asset to identify them.

Fastpath: Project Setup > Locations And Assets > Locations And Assets - Grid View
  1. Confirm that the correct business unit is selected in the Business Unit field, and that the correct project is selected in the Project field.
  2. Select Project Setup > Locations And Assets > Locations And Assets - Grid View.
  3. If you want to print labels for only some locations and/or assets, in the Locations And Assets - Grid View screen, select the checkboxes for those locations and/or assets.
    If you want to print labels for all locations and/or assets, you do not need to select anything.
  4. In the Locations And Assets - Grid View screen, select the View Barcodes button .
  5. In the Choose Barcodes to View window, select one of the following options:
    • All Locations And Assets
    • All Locations
    • All Assets
    • All Lowest Level Locations—This option is frequently used because these are the locations that have been identified through calibrating plan drawings.
    • All Lowest Level Assets
    • All Selected Locations And Assets—Use this option if you have selected specific items in step 3.
  6. Select View.
  7. In the Format field on the Choose Barcodes To View screen, select an option for what you want to print.
    If you want to include the reference number for the location or asset, select QR Codes - Element Reference.
  8. Select View Report.
    There may be a delay in displaying the report, depending on how many labels you selected to print.
  9. Select the Save button and then select a file format.
    • XML file with report data
    • CSV (comma delimited)
    • PDF
    • MHTML (web archive)
    • Excel
    • TIFF file
    • Word
    Tip: Barcode labels use A4 size paper. If you are using 8.5" x 11" paper, select a file format that allows you to adjust margins and print area as necessary to fit the paper.
  10. Use the internet browser options to open or save the file.
The labels are available in the file type you selected.
