Add or Edit a Predefined Answer to a Predefined Answer Group

Once you have created a predefined answer group, you can add a list of answers to the group. You can enter answers one at a time in Field View or use the template to enter multiple answers at once. You can't edit entries that have already been selected as an answer.

You have already created a predefined answer group. See Create a Predefined Answer Group.

  1. Confirm that the correct business unit is selected in the Business Unit field, and that no project is selected in the Project field.
  2. Select Business Setup > Standards And Templates > Business Form Templates > Predefined Answers
  3. In the Predefined Answer Groups grid, select the group to which you want to add predefined answers.
    The list answers defined for the group appears in the Predefined Answers grid on the right.
  4. If you're using the template, click the Excel icon to download a copy of the template.
  5. If you're adding or editing answers one at a time, right-click on Predefined Answers in the Description column and select Add Predefined Answer, or right-click on the existing answer and select Edit Predefined Answer.
    To enter a second-level answer, right-click the top-tier answer and select Add Predefined Answer.
    You can't edit an answer that's already been selected in a form.
    The Add/Edit Predefined Answer window appears.
  6. In the Predefined Answer Name field, enter a name or edit the existing name for the answer.
  7. In the Weight field, enter or edit a number to give an answer more or less importance than other predefined answers in the list when analyzing form data.
    Higher numbers give more importance.
  8. In the Score field, enter or edit a number to use this answer in calculating a score for form data analysis.
    You can use decimals. If predefined answers in a list of predefined answers have scores, then questions using the predefined answer list can be included in Calculation question type questions.
  9. Click Choose next to the Colour field, and select a color to be the background color for the answer.
    The color appears on the form and in reports.
  10. Click Save.
  11. To change the order of the answers in the list, hold the Shift key, click on an answer, and drag it to a new position in the list.
Now that you have added answers to your predefined answer list, you can use the list when creating form templates.
