Regenerate an Enrollment Code for a Device

Device information expires every seven days unless the device is enrolled during that time. If the code expires, regenerate the enrollment information, including the QR code. The device must have been added to the project. You cannot regenerate the code of a custom device name manually created in Field View Classic.

The Field View app must be installed on the mobile device. The app can be installed through the app store for iOS and Windows devices. For Android devices, install from Google Play. See Install the Field View App on an Android Device. Also review Compatibility with Operating Systems and Devices to ensure your device is compatible with Field View.
You will typically regenerate the code for a device when you have cleared the device's enrollment information. However, you can regenerate the code for a device even if current enrollment information exists. A device name can be used only once.

The device password must be changed in order to regenerate the code.

  1. Select the menu icon in the upper left corner, then choose Project Setup. Select Devices.
  2. In the row of the device you want to work with, select and select Regenerate Code.
  3. Select Continue in the device password window.
  4. Enter the new password and choose Change Password.
The Device Enrolment window appears, showing the device's new enrollment code, expiration date, and QR code.
  5. If you want to print the QR code, select Print/Create PDF.
  6. Select the Close button in the upper right corner to close the Device Enrolment window.
The device user must update the device settings to use the new enrolment code.
