What's New in Field View 2025 R6

With the June release of Field View, we added features to empower field workers by providing them with immediate visual context, helping to reduce misinterpretations and rework as they access IFC models on Field View web and mobile devices, both offline and online. We also added the ability to manage 3D models to ensure project data remains current and accessible with update tools in a central repository. You can enhance documentation accuracy by placing pins for tasks and forms directly on the 3D model, creating a single source of truth across project views as tasks and forms automatically reflect on linked 2D plans.

In addition, you now have the ability to streamline your project setup by tailoring geometry imports from IFCs and quickly generating 2D floor plans from 3D models, while automating BIM file calibration to minimize manual work and errors. We implemented a new way to set up organisations on projects using the Organisation Import Tool, allowing for quick bulk uploads with enterprise library support.

BIM Setup

We enhanced the IFC processing functionality to allow you to pull out the spaces and locations you need from your IFC to be populated along with your 2D drawings. This can then be automatically calibrated to massively reduce the project set up time from days to minutes

Easily review and correct any errors with the Edit Calibration function. Locations with BIM models, including all children locations, will display in the plan view. Selecting the drawing card will open the BIM viewer for the model.

3D Model Viewer

The 3D Model Viewer is a new feature on Field View Mobile that enables field workers to access and interact with model-based workflows both offline and online at construction sites. It allows for precision task and form placement by accurately placing pins directly on the 3D model, ensuring precise documentation and task management. If you link your 3D and 2D views, Field View will automatically synchronize any tasks or forms placed on the 3D model with the 2D drawing to ensure consistency across project views.

Additionally, forms and task pins will be captured and displayed on corresponding reports, providing clear visual context and enhancing reporting accuracy.

Add and Import Organisation, Download Template

You no longer have to add organisations manually. The new organisation import tool is designed to streamline the process of adding organisations to Field View to enterprise libraries and projects. When you upload organisation lists into Field View, Field View will search for duplicates and request that you review them. Once imported, new organisations will be automatically added to your enterprise library for faster project setup.

Download the template to ensure the correct formatting of the organisation. You will have to enter the organisation type once the organisations are added.

Full Size Media

You can now upload and use high-quality images within your projects. This is ideal for when detailed imagery is important for accurate reporting and analysis. The image does not affect device storage.

If you want to annotate a full sized image after it has already been synced up, you may be required to have an internet connection. This is to prevent the full sized image being replaced by the lower quality compressed image for the purposes of annotation. Please note, this requirement will only be made for any annotation attempt made after the initial sync of that image to the server.

You will also have the option to allow users to annotate photos offline. However, if you select this option, the high resolution images will be downsized, and there is no way to recover the image with the higher resolution.
