Field Definitions: JC Metric Conversions Form

The following is a list of field descriptions for the JC Metric Conversions form. Many of the descriptions include links to other topics that provide additional information about or related to the topic.

UM

Specify the unit of measure (from HQ Units of Measure) to which you want to associate a metric unit of measure.

MUM

Specify the metric unit of measure for this standard unit of measure.

Note: Metric units of measure must be set up in HQ Units of Measure before they can be used here.

Imperial to Metric Factor

Specify the factor (multiplier) to use in converting an imperial (inch/pound) quantity to its metric equivalent.

Example: The conversion factor for lbs. to kilograms (metric equivalent) is 0.453592. This means to convert 10 lbs. to kilograms, you would multiply 10 ´ 0.453592 to get 4.53592 kilograms.

Metric to Imperial Factor

Specify the factor (multiplier) to use in converting a metric quantity to its imperial (inch/pound) equivalent.

Example: The conversion factor for kilograms to lbs. (imperial equivalent) is 2.204620. This means to convert 10 kilograms to lbs., you would multiply 10 ´ 2.204620 to get 22.0462 lbs.
