Pay Sequences

The Pay Sequence number identifies the group of earnings with which this entry will be paid, and controls how some deductions and liabilities are calculated.

All entries on one pay sequence are paid on one check. Having multiple pay sequences means the employee may have more than one paycheck in a week.

Pay Sequence numbers are set up on the Pay Sequence tab in PR Pay Period Control. This field defaults to the first Pay Sequence number set up for this Pay Period, or the previous value, and cannot be changed on existing entries.

Only earnings posted to Sequence #1 update the subject weeks in the Accumulations File. This is important to note when posting earnings that should affect unemployment liability.
