Set up an Agreement Amortization Schedule Automatically

If you are using the revenue amortization feature (i.e. you selected S-Amortize as the Revenue Recognition option for the agreement in SM Agreements), you can use the SM Automatic Scheduling form to set up amortization schedules automatically for agreements and period services that are flagged for separate billing.

To set up an agreement amortization schedule automatically:

Note: These steps assume you have already set up the agreement quote and flagged it for amortization (set the Revenue Recognition drop-down to S-Amortize). If you have not, you must set up the agreement quote first.
  1. From the Vista main menu, select Service Management > Programs.
  2. Double-click on the Agreements icon to open the SM Agreements form.
  3. In the Agreement field, enter the agreement for which to set up the amortization schedule. Agreement must be in Quote status. Press F4 to select from a list of valid agreements.
  4. Click on the Amortization Schedule tab.
  5. Click the Automatic Scheduling button (above the tab pages).
The SM Automatic Scheduling form displays.
  6. From the Frequency drop-down, select the revenue deferral frequency.
  7. In the Start Date field, enter the date with which to start the amortization schedule. The system will use this date as the deferral date for all sequences in the schedule. For more information, see the F1 help.
  8. Click Schedule. The system will auto-generate an amortization schedule for the agreement based on the agreement term and the information you entered here.
Once you generate an amortization schedule, you can edit it as needed until you activate the agreement.Set Up An Agreement Service Amortization Schedule Automatically
