Place a Work Order Scope on Hold

You can place a work order scope on hold for any reason, such as waiting for parts, customer not available, waiting for another task to be done, and so forth.

Placing a work order scope "on hold" does not prevent you from entering or billing work completed, entering purchase orders, or adding new scopes or trips. However, creating a trip for an "on hold" work order will trigger a message asking if you want to remove the holds from the work order. Selecting Yes will remove the hold and create the the trip; selecting No will create the trip but retain the hold status.
  1. Open SM Dispatch Board and select the Dispatch Board to work with.
  2. Open the standard or custom query containing the work order whose scope(s) you are placing on hold.
  3. Right-click on the desired work order and select Place on Hold from the context menu..
If the work order has a single scope, the SM Dispatch Scopes on Hold form displays. If multiple scopes exist for the work order, the SM Scopes on Hold Grid Only form displays.
  4. Place the scope/scopes on hold.
