Reports Features

Vista 2025.6 delivers on user-requested Reports enhancements, fixes, and other improvements.

For Customers on the Cloud: Choose a Database to Run Crystal Reports

If you are a cloud-hosted Vista customer, you may be eligible to purchase a Vista Enterprise Database, a secondary read-only replica of your existing Vista database. Contact your account representative to learn more about this offering.

With the Vista Enterprise Database, you can choose to run Crystal Reports against it. Each database has unique benefits:
  • Transactional database: allows you to do real-time reporting on the most up-to-date data. To run Crystal Reports against this database, you have to select the Transactional Report checkbox on the RP Report Titles form.

This checkbox is selected by default for payroll batch or check printing process reports and batch reporting process reports. For non-Crystal reports, this checkbox is grayed out and disabled. For more information, see the Field Definition Help for Transactional Report.

  • Vista Enterprise Database: allows you to free up Vista for completing other processes while compiling report data. This is the default database for running reports that do not require a lot of processing power.

To specify transactional reporting, go to Reports > Programs > RP Report Titles, and on the Info tab, select the Transactional Report checkbox. For more information about choosing a database for your reporting, see Choose a Database to Run Crystal Reports.

For more information about the new reporting Vista Enterprise Database, see Vista Databases.
