Selecting Cost Items from the Lookup
Use the lookup to select cost items for a visual assembly. Parts of a visual assembly that you assign cost items to from the lookup are denoted by the Lookup button next to the field.
The cost items that appear in the lookup are based on the catalog that is currently selected for the job, regardless of whether you are working on a visual assembly in the Catalog or the Estimate tab. If you switch catalogs, the cost items in the lookup could be completely different.
You can filter the items in the lookup list by unit of measurement. This is a convenient method of limiting your cost item options to only those that use the appropriate unit of measurement.
From the Estimate tab, double-click on the visual assembly.
From the Takeoff tab, double-click on the takeoff item that represents the assembly, then double-click on the assembly name.
From the Catalog tab, open the Visual Assemblies folder and double-click on the assembly.
