Replace Meter - Examples
Below are three examples for replacing meters.
Scenario #1
In this example (above) you are installing a brand new (0) meter on 05/27/20.
This information is entered in the new meter section. Notice that in your old meter selection the last reading on 05/23/20 for 50 hours displays. If the reading is correct, save your changes.
Scenario #2
Using the same information from scenario 1 (above) - you are still installing a brand new (0) meter. However, because the 50 reading on 05/23/20 you notice there has been a few additional hours added on the machine (before the meter broke) and those hours have not been entered in Spectrum. You can adjust the last meter entry here by selecting the Enter final reading for old meter? checkbox and then enter the correct final reading. Save your changes.
Scenario #3
Occasionally (especially in companies with a large fleet of similar equipment), some shops will recycle/re-use a meter from spare parts inventory. In this case, in the New meter section, the Base reading will be the value that displays on the actual (used) meter that you are installing. If a value of 25 is displaying on the used meter that is installed, this is the value you will enter in the Base reading field.
