About Viewpoint ID (Legacy SSO)

If your organization still uses Viewpoint ID logins, learn about the ways your setup is different from organizations using Trimble ID.

Important: This information does not apply to the majority of Vista Web customers, as most organizations will be moving to Trimble ID.

What is Viewpoint ID?

Viewpoint ID is the SSO login option used by Trimble Construction One cloud customers prior to 2025 (in versions prior to Vista Web 25.2 and Vista 2024 R1).

Who Should Use Viewpoint ID?

Australian Vista Web cloud customers are the only Vista Web customers who should continue to use Viewpoint ID. Trimble ID will be available to Australian customers at a later date.

Unless you are an Australian customer, it is recommended that your organization moves to Trimble ID logins. For more information about Trimble ID, see Configure Trimble ID Logins.

How is My Setup with Viewpoint ID Different from Trimble ID?

For customers who are using Viewpoint ID, your Vista Web portal will continue to reference Viewpoint ID or VPID, with no mention of Trimble ID or TID. In general, the Vista Web Help content for Trimble ID will not apply to you.

Vista Web login page

On the portal login page, the SSO option will say Sign In with Viewpoint ID. Users can follow the steps to log in outlined here: Log in with Viewpoint ID (Legacy SSO).

User Access and Login Auditing

Pages including User Access and Login Auditing will continue to reference Viewpoint ID or VPID.

Bulk Link VPID in User Access
Admins can link multiple user portal profiles with their Viewpoint IDs at once by doing the following:
  1. In the portal, go to Admin > User Access.
  2. In the Module Bundle field, select User Setup (in the General section).
  3. At the top of the page, select More > Bulk Link VPID.

For all users listed in the grid who have Vista single sign-on enabled for their VP usernames, select this option to bulk link their Trimble Construction One profile to their portal login.

User Profile VPID Linked Indicator
Admins will be able to unlink their Viewpoint ID from their portal profile by doing the following:
  1. Log in to the portal with your Viewpoint ID.
  2. Select your name in the upper right, and then select Unlink (near the top of the dropdown menu).
Viewpoint ID Configuration

Admins must activate the Keystyle tool in Trimble Construction One and enable the portal setting Enable SSO through TC1 login. Review the setup for Viewpoint ID here: Configure Viewpoint ID Login (Legacy SSO).

Admins Manage Multifactor Authentication (MFA) through Viewpoint Team

For instructions on enabling multifactor authentication in Trimble Construction One, see Enable Multi-Factor Authentication in the Viewpoint Team Help.

Additional Information for Users to Know About Viewpoint ID
  • First-time portal users still need to enroll in the Vista Web portal.
  • Users whose accounts are linked to their Viewpoint ID cannot log in to the portal using their employee number.
  • Users must sign in using their Viewpoint ID in order to access Vista Web Office Tools.

Can I Upgrade to Trimble ID?

If you are a Vista Web cloud customer, you can upgrade to Trimble ID (unless you are an Australian customer).
